MEET YOUTH PASTOR ELLIOT

Dr. Elliot Sorrell was saved as an eight year old boy at a camp-meeting in Lancaster, SC. He served the Lord on the mission field with his family in the country of Sri Lanka thereafter. He was called to preach in the year of 2006 and obtained a degree in Bible offered through his church. Upon his family's return to the States he obtained a Bachelor's in Biochemical Sciences and a Medical Doctorate in an effort to follow God's leadership into medical missions. He was able to marry Cicilia in July of 2013, who had accepted Christ while his family was on the mission field. During his years of medical training, he continued in the service of our Lord at Shady Grove Baptist Church. He has served in the Nursing home ministry, Bus ministry, Children's Ministry, Music Ministry, Sunday School teaching, as well as in local evangelical outreach such as children's neighborhood Bible clubs. He has also served on the Missions Committee and as the church Medical Director. As he continues toward the goal of reaching the mission field with his wife and their four children, he works at a local hospital as an Internist and is excited to serve the Lord at Shady Grove Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor.
